Bachelor of Library and Information Science

Graduates of the Library and Information Science Program must be able to: 

  1. Catalog, classify, index, and abstract information sources.
  2. Provide researchers with  reference, bibliographic, and information services. 
  3. Manage the library's overall operations and services.

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)

Graduates of the Information Technology Program must be able to:    

  1. Apply applicable computing, science, and mathematics expertise to the profession.
  2. Observe the best practices and the industry standards in the profession.
  3. Analyze complicated issues and identify and specify the computational needs necessary to solve them.
  4. Identify and assess user requirements and incorporate them into the selection, development, evaluation, and management of a computer-based system. 
  5. Demonstrate intellectual humility in professional and interpersonal circumstances.
  6. Develop and assess a computer-based system, method, component, or program to meet specific needs and requirements under a variety of limitations.
  7. Integrate IT-based solutions into the users’ experience.
  8. Use current techniques, tools, and practices in the field.
  9. Engage in a development team to reach a common goal.
  10. Assist in the development of an effective IT project plan.
  11. Communicate complex computing tasks to the computing community and the general public through effective technical writing and presentations. 
  12. Adhere to the Universal Ethical Principles in the use of information technology. 
  13. Participate in educational and professional activities for professional growth. 
  14. Display perseverance, respect, civic-mindedness, and professionalism in the practice.
