VACCINATION DRIVE

LICEO U BACKS DOH IN ITS COVID-19 VACCINE ROLLOUT Liceo U coordinates with the Department of Health for a three-day COVID-19 vaccination (January 18 to 20). Open to the public for first, second, and booster shots, the vaccination is being held at the Civic Center from 8 AM until 3 PM (cut-off time). Early this morning, a brief program formally opened the event. DOH Regional Director Jose R. Llacuna delivered a message that underscored the necessity of getting protected from the virus through vaccination. He thanked Liceo U for assisting the Department in the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines. The vaccination started with ceremonial booster shots administered to the three top officials of the University. Criminology, Nursing, and Medical students assist the DOH personnel in the facilitation of the event.

LICEO GIVES HEALTH SERVICES TO SENIORS; HOLDS BLOODLETTING In celebration of her 67th Foundation Anniversary, Liceo de Cagayan University through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Innovation provided the senior citizens of Baranggay Macasandig with free health services, which is an integral part of the University’s community extension program. Held on February 26, 2022, at the Paseo del Rio Campus, the event was attended by 35 senior citizens who availed of the following services: consultation/checkup, laboratory analyses (CBC, Urinalysis, Stool Exam, Blood Typing), X-Ray, Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation, and Medicine Dispensing. Assisting a pool of medical doctors in the administration of the health services were the students from the different colleges (Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation Sciences, Radiologic Technology, Pharmacy, and Medical Technology, Criminology). A day earlier, bloodletting, a related activity on the occasion of the Foundation Anniversary, was conducted by the Philippine Red Cross in partnership with the College of Medical Technology at the Paseo del Rio Campus. Ninety-nine bags of blood were collected during the six-hour event. Liceo U carries out her commitment to community extension annually through H.E.L.P.S. – a program that offers the adopted communities free services along four components, namely Health, Education, Legal, and Public Service.
