The College of Information Technology aims at producing graduates who can:
- Apply knowledge of computing, science, and mathematics appropriate to the discipline;
- Understand and apply the best practices and standards;
- Identify and define appropriate computing requirements for the solution of a problem;
- Identify and analyze user needs for the selection, creation, evaluation, and administration of computer-based system;
- Design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet the desired needs and requirements under various constraints;
- Integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment;
- Apply current techniques, skills, tools, and practices necessary in the profession;
- Effectively function as a member or a leader of a development team to accomplish a common goal;
- Assist in the creation of an effective IT project plan;
- Communicate effectively complex computing activities to the computing community and the general public through analytical writing, presentations, and instructions;
- Analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society;
- Commit to lifelong learning by continuously updating knowledge, skills, and attitudes; and
- Use information technology according to the universal ethical principles.
